DT-5803ATQZ Series 1×9 155M Optical Transceiver is a dual-rate 100/155Mbps fiber transceiver in the compact 1×9 pin-package format, designed for SONET OC-3 / SDH STM-1 telecom applications as well as Fast Ethernet and Fiber Channel fiber links. The SC/FC/ST optical port is compatible with industry-standard connectors, and the transceiver operates from a single +3.3V power supply.

The transmitter section integrates an FP (Fabry-Perot) laser with a driver IC incorporating both temperature compensation and APC (Automatic Power Control) circuitry. This combination maintains stable optical output power across the full –40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range, without manual calibration or optical power monitoring in the host system. The receiver uses a PIN photodetector optimized for wide dynamic range.

The module housing uses a plastic top cover with a metal bottom shield, providing EMC/EMI protection while keeping the package compact for PCB integration. All three models (SC, FC, ST) are identical in electrical specification — the only difference is the optical connector type. The module is Class I laser eye-safe and RoHS 2.0 compliant.

Metal Bottom EMC Shield

The combination of a plastic top cover and metal bottom shield provides EMI suppression equivalent to full metal housing designs for most industrial EMC requirements, while reducing the overall module weight and manufacturing cost. The metal shield is particularly effective at reducing conducted and radiated emissions from the high-frequency FP laser driver circuit.

The 1×9 module mounts directly on the host PCB via through-hole pins, compatible with standard 1×9 PCB footprints. SC, FC, and ST interfaces accept corresponding standard duplex fiber patch cords. LVPECL differential output is compatible with standard SERDES and FPGA fiber front-end inputs.
