Product Overview
The GIGAC AFBR-59E4APZ-HT Compatible SFF Optical Module is custom-designed by GIGAC Technology for full drop-in compatibility with the Broadcom® (formerly Avago) AFBR-59E4APZ-HT. It provides system designers with a reliable, cost-effective, and fully qualified alternative for implementing Fast Ethernet over multimode fiber in both new designs and existing equipment.
The module uses the industry-standard 2×5 dual inline package (DIP) format with an LC fiber connector interface. The transmitter uses a 1310nm light-emitting diode (LED) driven by an integrated circuit that converts LVPECL differential signals to analog LED drive current. The receiver employs an Indium Gallium Arsenide (InGaAs) PIN photodiode coupled to a transimpedance preamplifier IC and quantizer IC for pulse shaping on the data output.
Both data output and signal detect output are LVPECL compatible. The module is compatible with wave soldering and aqueous cleaning processes, meeting the requirements of large-scale PCB manufacturing environments. It is manufactured in an ISO 9001-certified facility, and complies with IEEE 802.3u 100BASE-FX optical performance specifications and RoHS environmental regulations.
